Half Guard, i feel it gives me more options for defending and escaping. In full guard is only a matter of time before they pass and take side control.

Consistency.Β

Because of scheduling constraints, i want to train at minimum 2x a week, and 1 open mat for 2024.

What a great program!!! Where do I start?

The attention to details when preparing to become a coach/leader, not only in Jiu-jitsu but in other aspects of life. Understanding your audience, being able to stimulate your audience even when they are different. Being prepared, and giving 100% of what is expected to your audience. Understanding your limitations and your students limitations. How to structure a class, choices of words, body language, and so much more.

There was so much, that i can't unpack it all in here. Overall i would definitely recommend this course to anyone whonis interested in becoming a leader.

As a white belt, jiu-jitsu University by Saulo Ribeiro was extremely helpful.Β

The most challenging part for me was not having a goal. I felt so overwhelmed with all of the information provided, and i did not know what to focus on. I felt lost. Even after being told as a white belt i am supposed to survive, i didn't know what that meant.Β

After Prof Thomas mentioned training with a purpose, any purpose, i was able to narrow my focus on a week by week basis, such as:

Just show up; Make it through the warm-up 100%;Β Watch videos before every class;Β
