The short answer is Yes. Jiu-jitsu should be an olympics sport. Personally i would love to see Gi Only Jiu-jitsu in the olympics because it will provide more options, for attacks, making the matches more interesting.

I just don't know how popular it would be since the current sports aspect of Jiu-jitsu has diluted the art. CJI format made it exciting, and hopefully they can adopt something similar with Gi.

But as others have said, creating a governing body, defining the rules...etc, will be the most difficult part to ensure the sport is safe and yet competitive.

This makes a lot of sense. Thank you Professor.

Half Guard, i feel it gives me more options for defending and escaping. In full guard is only a matter of time before they pass and take side control.

Consistency.

Because of scheduling constraints, i want to train at minimum 2x a week, and 1 open mat for 2024.

What a great program!!! Where do I start?

The attention to details when preparing to become a coach/leader, not only in Jiu-jitsu but in other aspects of life. Understanding your audience, being able to stimulate your audience even when they are different. Being prepared, and giving 100% of what is expected to your audience. Understanding your limitations and your students limitations. How to structure a class, choices of words, body language, and so much more.

There was so much, that i can't unpack it all in here. Overall i would definitely recommend this course to anyone whonis interested in becoming a leader.

As a white belt, jiu-jitsu University by Saulo Ribeiro was extremely helpful.
