The week might be half over but we’ve still got sweeps, take downs and passing the half guard!

#CU@6AM!

It would be cool to get a round in with Bane!

Closed guard…keep them moving and be at an angle.

if you open your guard you’re switching to open guard, if they open your guard….your guard is getting passed.

open guard….keep moving. If I go static I tend to get my guard passed.

We’re back at the top of the curriculum!

If you’re at the beginning of your journey we’ve got 4 techniques that are part of white belt must know.

If you’re seasoned in your journey these are great refreshers to keep our game fresh.

I would say that I isolate the technique so I can get into a rhythm of how it should feel when I successfully hit it.

Then I like to learn how to defend against it. I feel I get better at techniques if i’m  able to stop them cause now I know what to look for offensively.

The banana split.

I visited a gym as a white belt and got caught in it. Let’s just say the other person didn’t apply it slowly and I was walking funny for a while.

Kimuras, judo, and side control escapes.

We’ve got something for everyone this week!

Starting our block on side control.

Lots of escapes lined up this week.  If you don’t like being in bottom side control you should definitely be at class!

Great techniques this week in fundamentals!

Foot sweep. They didn’t come easy to me, so when I hit them I get extra excited.
