How deep into the rabbit hole do we want to dive?!

Jiu Jitsu came from humble roots.

The Gracie’s were kicking in doors and challenging people to prove how much they believed in Jiu Jitsu.

Back then if you talked negatively about a martial art you were met with some serious challenges and you better put up or shut up.

Trap bridge and roll….i personally feel this is the one reversal that should be mastered as a white belt. It’s such a strong technique that will be used your entire journey.

We’ve got some transitions this week in fundamentals. This is a great time to learn basic positions or, if you’re a bit advanced, where to put your weight/pressure during these transitions.

Definitely self defense. I don’t remember who said it, “advanced techniques are fundamental techniques done really welll”, but it really stuck with me. I think if you have the basics down it makes the sport side easier.

Chokes and kimuras this week, if you like submissions this is a great week to be at fundamental classes.

A new bag to carry my stuff in.

I think I’m running short on spats, which is weird cause I usually buy them as a set. 🤷🏻‍♂️

It depends if my wife is able to see this…🤔

Favorite brand is probably war tribe. They have a lot of sub-sizes and I have a hard time fitting regular sizes.

We’re getting started on the fundamentals block in guard. Closed guard is one of my favorites, looking forward to sharing small tips that have helped out over the years.
