All of these are great answers. Public speaking is huge, interacting with others bingo. But adhering to a technique and making it muscle memory is where it’s at for me. Not thinking but performing. Be an artist. 

What works and what doesn’t. Journal or look it up on line. Then drill, identify the moment to employ technique and execute in a roll. Some techniques are for some and others are not. Identify what works for you. And use it. Another is the details. Find them and reflect on them. They can be the difference between success and failure. 

Great question. All of whaat Dan and Gary said. Another phrase that comes to mind. Just show up. But I like to add have a purpose when you do show up. Work on a part of your game consistently till you know it inside and out. But to also stay positive. Even on rough days. Showing up means everything.

Look around, check out the reviews and go to a few trial lessons. If they are afraid of being sore tell them it’s like anything else. It will go away after you get used to it.

So I twist the truth a little lol. 

I agree with Russ. The non boring exercise works. But one other thing I might add. The silence that occurs within my being when I step on the mat. I would liken it to a refuge. Or sanctuary.

So far I visited one gym in California. But I plan to in the future. I don’t feel so bad when I see a person w golf clubs in an airport when I have a gui in my suitcase.

BJJ is done by I believe 1% of the population. And those who try it don’t always stick to it. For a variety of reasons. BJJ is a super power. Not just of the body but of the mind. To be able to do difficult things. Not everyone likes to do difficult things. BJJ just so happens to be one of those difficult things that have a few drawbacks that others don’t feel like succumbing to. Whether it’s the sweat from your partner the aggressiveness or it just doesn’t sit well. Our bodies ache. However with that being said. The main focus is why you do BJJ? Here we need to be a little selfish. There always will be someone to train with, what is it you want to get out of it would be my main focus.
