Russ has become a great instructor.

This was a great day on the mats. I got a lot out of it.

The adult graduation event was my standout memory. Seeing everyone get promoted and seeing their families witness it was great. Seeing 3 new black belts was amazing!

Having a positive outlet that includes camaraderie really helps me approach difficult situations with a positive approach. I can walk into the academy feeling one way and walk out feeling completely different.

I always thought being passive and waiting for and opening was the way to get out of bad positions. It took me a long time to realize that I can make my own opportunities. That even when I'm stuck in a bad spot I can still be in control.

One time on the mats I was told "Relax, you have been here before, What's the worst that can happen?' I often think of that off the mats whenever I am stressing about something. It allows me to calmly sort through an issue and make decisions with a clear mind.
