I always wash everything. Who are the 40% that say no so I know who to avoid?

I feel like this is somehow directed at me?

Anything upbeat works as long as it isn't Imagine Dragons. The volume doesn't have to be too loud. Just loud enough to drown out the sound of my tears hitting the mats.

Are you asking about our own jiu-jitsu or our partners? Either way, speed without control causes openings and mistakes. Pressure for me means keeping control not just smashing. If all you do is smash you aren't creating opportunities. Always have a plan. All that being said, I got beat up this morning.

Yoga has benefited me greatly. My flexibility, strength, and recovery have improved. I also cut out most ultra-processed foods. When I eat poorly now I really feel terrible. Back to the Whole 30 for me today. Yesterday I had dairy in the form of cheesecake (it was my bday) for the first time in ages and I am suffering today. Diet and mobility are key for me, especially now that I'm old as dirt.

I do it a lot from a defensive position or when escaping. It calms me down and allows me to respond to my partners movements and process what is happening without over thinking.

Russ has become a great instructor.
