I'm sure not a surprise to any of my partners but the triangle choke. I didn't even learn it in a class, just a training partner showing me an extra move.

Saddle, cross ashi, 4-11, or honey hole. Do you know the difference? Is there a difference?

Come at 8PM on Wednesday to advanced gi to find out!

This week advanced gi will transition back to looking at leg locks. We will take the first week to reintroduce a drill, the concept of being inside, and reexamine a few entries we have seen in previous segments.

The leg lock blocks have been popular in the past, let make this one even better together!

Bottom half guard. It is the one position that no matter how I have approached it, nothing ever sticks. I've made several attempts over the last 9 or 10 years and it is like in one ear and then out of the other.

Have a good bottom half? I'm all ears.

Hey everyone, time for the Weekly Question.

What's the one thing that you struggle with no matter how hard you try?

Let's have a good discussion. Maybe your strength is someone else's weakness and we have a chance to really work together and help each other.

Check the comments for mine!

Advanced gi will continue using the spider lasso but shifting our focus to the sweeps. We uncovered a lot of details last week.

Class is the day before Halloween, no better time to work SPIDER guard!!!

Want to advance your spider guard game? Well advanced gi this week is the spot for you!

We will start our dive into combing the lasso hook with spider guard for a slightly more modern approach.

Let's drill the transition and get get comfortable with some attacks 🕷️

John Zapala it is very versatile with so much you can do. I think with so many wrestlers crossing over now, the popularity is faded a bit since they typically do not like being on their back. If like me you never wrestled, it's just fine.
