This will be our final week focusing on our Craig Jones inspired passes.

Both of this week techniques will be fairly simple movements that will put you in a great position to attack the legs or end in side control.Β

Definitely a good combo to wrap up this series!

Nothing serious, but what's going to be the next move(s) to become an internet trend?

27 May 21:41

This week gi advanced will continue to review and refine our Craig Jones inspired passing position.

From there we will look at a same side knee cut to end up in side control.

Sequence 2 will have us finishing up in mount.Β  So open guard to mount side control or mount are some pretty good options.

Stick around for open mat after to see if any Dean Lister inspiration comes out!

Hands down the triangle! Even if you can hit the triangle there are so many transitions and the set ups can be used for other moves.Β

Gi advanced this week with start a series of passes based off a position used by one of the current entertaining and sometime controversial figures in jiu jitsu, Craig Jones.

Definitely a week not to miss as this week will set the foundation for next week too! Plus these will work in gi or no gi and continue to use the leg lock threat or position to pass the guard.Β Β

Gi advanced will be a fun few next couple of weeks. We will be taking a look at a series of guard passes inspired by Craig Jones that end in leg locks, use leg lock positions to pass, or use the fear of being leg locked to get into a better position.Β

If you've enjoyed all of the leg lock work we have done this is the perfect time to start making some connections and become truly dangerous!

I've become a fan of the ankle pick. If you go for a single and fail this can be a good plan B. Plus you can even hit one if you are both on your knees either from the start of scramble.

This week in Gi Advanced we will be taking a look at a closed guard pass that is sure to annoy your partner. Come see how we can trap a hand and take away one of their defensive tools.Β I always hate when people are good at this one and use it, it's a hard one to stop!

Gi advanced moves into a new subject, guard passing.Β

This first week is one ofΒ  my favorite sequences and even allows you to come on top if you are a guard puller.Β

Some passing options from leg locks will happen in the next few weeks too. Don't miss out!

I feel like it can change with the partner. Sometimes we need to keep it playful based on injuries or experience.

On the flipside, I think being grinded into submission helps me reframe things if it feels like things have been going too well.Β
