In All Levels, we’ll look at two powerful chokes using the lapels. These chokes can be used to complete a submission or just use the threat of them to open other opportunities. Definitely something you want to add to your game!

One of the techniques in All Levels this week is the arm lock from the mount position. This is a submission that I’ve been personally focusing on and have been having a lot of fun with during open rolls. Make sure you come check out all the details this week and add a new submission to your arsenal!

All Levels is covering some mount escapes. I would argue it’s the most important escape to learn. Whether it’s on the mats or on the street, the mount is a natural position of dominance so you better develop a path to escape!

As a student, I never really considered how much goes in to being an instructor until I took this course. But these videos provide a great blueprint for how to structure a class. Plus with the continuous practice throughout the instructor program, you’ll have all the tools you need to become a great instructor!

I think the most challenging part is just showing up. When I first started I felt nervous, clueless and out of place. It’s hard to push yourself out of your comfort zone into something completely new. I think that continues as you progress through the belts as well because you can always find reasons to not train today. You have to show up to get better!
