Lotta guard work this week. We’ll be getting offensive with the position and going over one of my favorite reversals, the pendulum sweep!

We’re working from the clinch with a fun pass from half guard. Going to be a good Monday morning!

What do you value more during a roll, control or the submission?

I’d rather be in complete control the entire roll with no submission, than catching a lucky submission in the first minute.

I’m talking in a training session.. in competition by all means catch that lucky submission and conserve energy!

Let’s get to our partners back, and learn how to escape from it! See you tomorrow at 11

Definitely depends on the level of my training partner. If they’re less experienced, I like to take that time to work on things I want to add to my game but that I’m not proficient at yet. It’s a good opportunity to get good reps at that skill when I know that it wouldn’t work on a more experienced training partner. Crawl, walk, run!
