Short week this week for the 6am class!

I’d love to see some fresh faces this Tuesday morning, I know a lot of people have the week off. 😎

2 joint locks from Mount that are on the WBMK evaluations. 💪

LARRY SKINNERits true!saddle, 50/50, I can’t keep up with this madness!

Russell Usauskas I know, that door was opened the first roll we ever had together. That conversation will go down in Rol history. 🤣

I feel I’ve been very good at escapes cause that was my main focus as a white belt. And then professor Russell Usauskas started teaching advanced footsies…..now I get caught in strange foot configurations on a regular basis.

Lets put the fun in fundamentals this week!

Offensively, the cross collar choke—-a dominant position with a great finish.

Defensively-Trap, bridge and roll. Reversing a bad situation so we end up in a better spot.

Great question.

I think instead of trying to drink from the firehose I’d try and master basic fundamentals, leverage, and escapes.

Once those are set I feel a lot of offense comes naturally.

Also, wish I would have started earlier just like everyone says. 😉

I’ve been taking a step back and trying to see my opponent’s deficiencies and attack those. I want to pretend to attack one thing when I’m hoping they react a certain way so I can attack something else.

I’m trying to set up attacks

We’re back at the top of the fundamental’s curriculum, closed guard.

4 out of 6 techniques are part of the the white belt must know.

Let’s have some fun, #CU@6AM!

My game has definitely changed quite a bit. When I started I was told to stick to half guard since I wasn’t an ‘older guy’.  I guess being hard headed I wanted to work with different guards/offenses to be a rounded player. This would sometimes lead me to try and force these positions while sparring. Not always the most efficient thing to do.

Now my game consisted of looking for the deficiencies of my opponent and working from there, or baiting them into something.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. 🤷🏻‍♂️😬

We’re starting the block on side control in fundamentals. Show up at 6 am and get your body moving for the day. CU@6AM!
