Time for the question of the week! What do you do if you ever find yourself in a situation where you can’t train Jiu Jitsu as much as you’d like? It could be due to injury or any number of other events happening in your life but you’re just not able to get out there on the mats and train the way you would like to be training. For me I try to stay engaged with Jiu Jitsu as much as I can wether that be watching instructionals if I can’t get out on the mat or just even watching reels on Instagram, I like to keep learning however I can. I also try and stay as active as I can, I find that when I do any type of hard physical exercise that usually helps with any frustrations I might be feeling from not being able to train the way I want to be training. Let me know what you do below!

Time for the question of the week! Do you have a game plan for your training sessions? For me more recently I’ve been finding myself working on certain positions that I’m trying to get better at so I will put myself in those positions as much as possible during rounds. How do you plan your training sessions? Let me know below!

Time for our question of the week.

Do you think that taking a step back and just sitting on the sidelines and watching from time to time can help your game? Any time I find myself dealing with an injury or just need to give my body a little rest I always decide to just sit on the sidelines and watch what’s going on on the mats. I feel like that’s where some of my biggest breakthroughs have come from…just taking a step back and watching the bigger picture. It’s never fun when I have to sit out due to an injury but I know I can still come in and learn something just by watching. Let me know what you think in the comments.

Time for our weekly question.

What’s a lesson or skill you have learned or developed on the mats at Jiu Jitsu that you have then been able to transfer to other areas of your life off the mats?

For me, an important one has been being able to prioritize and focus on the things that actually matter and move me closer to my goals and to minimize the things that aren’t as important and to avoid the things that I would consider to be outside noise or distractions. Let me know what you think in the comments below!
