I’m stoked for this week’s intermediate classes — both Gi and NoGi will focus on guard passing.

In NoGi, we’ll break down smash and pressure passing, one of my favorite ways to control and wear down opponents.

In the Gi, we’ll study underhook-based passing, a super effective way to dismantle frames and advance position.

I’ll be sharing some of my most trusted and battle-tested passing systems — don’t miss it. Make sure you’re there! 👊

Oooo I love this question… let the creativity flow…

I’ve had the opportunity to visit some incredible places in the Jiu Jitsu world — a few that stand out are 10th Planet HQ, the original Gracie HQ, Renzo Gracie HQ, Marcelo Garcia HQ, and of course, Legacy HQ. Each one left a lasting impression and deepened my appreciation for the art.

As for places I haven’t visited yet — the list is long and exciting. At the top are those tied deeply to Jiu Jitsu’s roots and history - Carlson Gracie and Alliance HQin Brazil. Japan is a big one for me — many of you know I’m a huge fan of Judo, and visiting the Kodokan is high on my bucket list.

Beyond that, the list keeps growing… Chris Haueter’s garage, AOJ, ATOS, Unity HQ, Gracie University — each for its own reason, culture, and contribution to our community.

We’ve got a great week ahead!

✅ In the Interim program, we’re continuing with Half Guard.

🥋 Gi classes will focus on Transitions to the Back—one of the most challenging (and rewarding) movement patterns for many students. We’ll dive deep into space management and efficient movement.

🦶 NoGi will be all about Butterfly Sweeps, which ties in perfectly with last week’s material and should be a lot of fun.

✨ Also—don’t forget—I’ve got something fun planned for Saturday’s workshop. You won’t want to miss it!

See you all on the mat! 👊🏻

I wouldn’t be doing Jiu Jitsu if it weren’t for Professor Erik introducing me to it. Honestly, RŌL wouldn’t exist, and I wouldn’t be surrounded by so many amazing people today. 🙏 His impact on my life — and the lives of so many others — is something I’ll always be grateful for.

I’m genuinely excited about this week! 🙌 We have so much to work on…

👊 In Gi Interm classes, we’ll be diving into shield guard sweeps (some of you know it’s one of my favorites).

🤼‍♂️ In NoGi Interm, we’ve spent the last two weeks dissecting under-hook concepts — this week, we’re shifting gears and focusing on the over-hook. Game changer!

Whether you’re a Gi or Nogi player, this is the week you’ll definitely want to jump into! 💥🔥

This is a tough question for me… because Jiu Jitsu has truly changed my entire life. But if I had to narrow it down, I’d say it comes down to a few big lessons:

Making decisions under pressure—staying calm when everything feels chaotic. 🧠🔥

Embracing the suck—life is hard, but Jiu Jitsu teaches you that you can do hard things. 💪⚔️

And maybe the most unexpected one: learning to be approachable as an instructor. This was incredibly difficult for me, as I’ve always struggled with public speaking and being social isn’t naturally my strong suit. 🎤😅

Jiu Jitsu has challenged me in ways I never expected—but that’s exactly what makes it so transformative. 🙏✨

Since we had a short week last week, we’ll be revisiting our intermediate curriculum—but don’t let that fool you! 🔄 We’re actually diving deeper into the details:

Gi Class: Half-Guard Retention 🥋

NoGi Class: Under hook Control 🤼‍♂️

This is a fantastic chance to level up both subjects and sharpen your game! 🚀🔥 See you on the mats!
