Foot sweep. They didn’t come easy to me, so when I hit them I get extra excited.

First big piece of advice was when I was a white belt new to sparring, probably being a big spaz. A purple belt (at the time) put his weight on me and said slowwwwwww dowwwwwwnnnnnn, where you going in such a hurry? It still took a while for me to get it, lol.

What a great question. I feel like these are cliche answers but so true.

My self confidence definitely went up.

Easier to think under pressure when dealing with life in general.

Thinking outside the box is a big one too. Sometimes the obvious answer isnt’ really the answer.

We’re starting our block on back control this week. Let’s learn how to get to the back and then how to escape from back control.

Top control is the name of the game this week. Whether you want to attack submissions from top or you got stuck in the bottom and want to escape.

Still plenty of time left this week to get your dose of Jiu Jitsu. I’ll be teaching in the morning!

I enjoy both but prefer gi. I can slow all of you youngsters down.

I do enjoy watching the game evolve in no gi. All these young adults that have been training since they were barely out of diapers and now they’re coming up on their black belts is absolutely amazing to watch.
