Sometime I think the people we get to meet are the best benefit!

That's a really tough one. There was no singular event but the timing was right. I had always wanted to try some type of martial art.Β

The one thing I will say, something that kept me where I was training, was someone introducing me to a few others.Β

Advanced gi will take a look at arm bars from 50/50. The simplicity of this set up was eye opening for many last time the topic came up.Β

I can't wait to show it again and of course the wrist lock that exists there too!

If nothing else, this will come back to advanced gi.

Gary Pond I'm not sure if this is a compliment or insult. Either way I think a wrist lock in thanks or retribution is in order 🀣

That's amazing! You have to feel different moving on the mats and in general being 30 pounds lighter.Β

Keep up the amazing work! The learning sense are definitely awake based on the quality of the questions I've had you ask. Thoughtful questions are always good!

It's definitely helped with staying calm and patience.Β

I also think it helps with health overall. It has forced me to eat better especially on gym days. Better food choices equal better outcomes later in the day at the gym. The small change in gym day habits starts leading into other days and before you know it overall food choices are better.

Advanced gi will be starting our new block on 50/50.

This position became very popular in the last 10 years especially as leg locks rapidly developed. Unfortunately, it has also been used in competition for stalling. With that in mind, ever get stuck here and just not know where to start? Then this is the block for you!

I hate to take a middle of the road answer but I feel it changes as we progress. Depending on our current fitness level when starting, I think for some people the physical will out weigh the mental, or maybe it is 50-50?

I do agree as you continue on it definitely becomes more mental as the body adjusts to the training. Maybe closer to 75-25 if you are dealing with any injuries.Β
