Haha I feel like we all have had this happen. You haven't been training long enough if it hasn't.

Laundry, there are memes about how much laundry jiu jitsu generates. Especially for newer people to jiu jitsu, what tips can you offer  to help avoid being the stinky person?

-Always wash your stuff, don't try to re-ware it

-Adding vinegar along with detergent helps kill bacteria that will cause smells

-Washing on cold and hang drying helps prevents gis from shrinking

-Laying gis out in the out in the sun to dry lets the natural UV light kill ordor causing bacteria, and gives your gi that really nice rough texture your partners will love you for 🤣

-If you can't wash your stuff right away, hang it, don't bunch it up or leave it in the bag

What else can you share?

No advanced gi this week due to Prof Adam's workshop. He always has something great whenever he comes. Don't miss it!

I love the tripod sweep.

Bekah Bradshaw it isn't a pause, because the pause is when someone will capitalize. It's taking a slower more controlled pace.

I feel like often when moving quicker we tend to throw everything we can at our partners, instead think of it as being more intentional with your movements.

I feel there are probably 2 that have been the most impactful and regularly used.

First was Renzo Gracie, he showed how to avoid the bow and arrow choke. I use this often.

If you know me, no surprise. Pete the Greek, as it just burst the door wide open and wrist locks came rushing through!

I'd have to say some variation of a single leg.

Solid!

Pacing myself or relaxing was the biggest and earliest concept and mindset shift I've ever had. Early on a white belt I started noticing the guys who had just received blue belts before I started seemed on such a different level. With some reflection, I noticed they were relaxed, not spazzy, and had a solid pace. I still find this to hold true and even use it as a strategy. Sometimes I will go with someone younger and stronger who still tries to go 100mph. I let them work as hard as they want while staying in strong defensive positions and after 4 minutes they become gassed, then I go to work.
