I think getting smashed on bottom mount or side control for the duration of the round without a sub is the worse.  When I get beat like this, I remind myself that if this was a street fight and punches were involved, I probably would've gotten pummeled to death since I couldn't effectively recover my guard or get on top.  Getting subbed quickly with something you never saw coming is probably the easiest to deal with from an ego standpoint.  You can easily convince yourself that they got lucky but in reality you should be asking yourself if you were mentally prepared.  Did you underestimate your opponent?  Were you too passive?  Were you too aggressive?  Did you stick to the gameplan? These are questions you have to ask yourself.  Lastly, having your cardio fail is in my opinion the second worst.  Not being able to defend, let alone implement any offense because of fatigue is horrific.  To quote my boy Chael Sonnen, "fatigue makes cowards of all of us".

In NoGi Intermediate we'll be adding another pressure pass to our arsenal from top half.  The Over/Under pass is a staple in half guard passing and along with it we'll take a look at a no risk, potentially huge reward, sub with the Over/Under Knee Bar.  Nothing to lose, everything to gain.  Lastly we'll get into my absolute favorite sweep from bottom half, the Butterfly Sweep.

In NoGi Intermediate we'll be building off of last week's Knee Lever Sweep with two options for when it fails. We'll also look at the weave pass from top half.
