This week in Gi Advanced we will be taking a look at a closed guard pass that is sure to annoy your partner. Come see how we can trap a hand and take away one of their defensive tools. I always hate when people are good at this one and use it, it's a hard one to stop!

Gi advanced moves into a new subject, guard passing.

This first week is one of  my favorite sequences and even allows you to come on top if you are a guard puller.

Some passing options from leg locks will happen in the next few weeks too. Don't miss out!

I feel like it can change with the partner. Sometimes we need to keep it playful based on injuries or experience.

On the flipside, I think being grinded into submission helps me reframe things if it feels like things have been going too well.

This will be our final week working from 50/50 in Gi Advanced.

Bring your issues as we will spend some time trouble shooting and then getting is some positional sparring.

But do we get to pick the black belt that we get the knowledge from?

Advanced gi is going through some of the techniques from the past weeks and looking how they can be chained together to create some flows and give options.

This will serve as a great time to really get some reps in and do some positional sparring.

Advanced Gi will continue our work with 50/50.

We will be looking at a sweep that is common from closed guard and a nice way to take your partner's back. Continuing with the popular topic of leg locks, we will be looking at another toe hold.

I've become a big fan of knee cut passes. I don't know why other than one day they just started to work.

See how we can connect the 6 weeks of Ashi Garami to 50/50.

See how we can almost use John's knee lever from advanced no gi to help us sweep in gi.

See how we can attack the top foot.

So many connections to make this week!
